Via Blackstone support, one of the companies, Olympus Energy initiated in 2012, just sold to EQT for $1.8 Billion. At the time of sale, OE had 90,000 acres holding both the Marcellus and Deep Utica rights in SW PA’s core shale window. The asset was producing 720mmcf.d from ninety-nine wells, including five deep (14,000’ tvd) Utica wells.
Mr. Hillebrand’s started his career as a petroleum engineer for an international service company, which focused on cementing, stimulation and coiled tubing services for well construction, as the Appalachian Basin District Engineer. In 1993, Mr. Hillebrand sold PGMT to Sithe Energies, a large, independent, natural gas fired, electric power generation company. Once sold, Mr. Hillebrand continued working for Sithe as its VP of Business Development within PGMT. At Sithe, he oversaw the drilling and/or acquisition of over 2000 operated and non-operated properties within the Appalachian Basin.
